Nov 14, 2008                    Chicago

Our sister-in-law from Kansas was flying up for a convention in Chicago, so we told her we'd come pick her up from the airport and have dinner with her.  We got there early so we ate lunch - found a diner named Luke's.

Cool decor!

Then we went to the Sears Tower and drove around a bit.

Why is it that people who offer to take your picture for you decide that the sidewalk is so important and include it and therefore cut of the sign that says "Sears Tower?"  Argggg.  I mean, why else would we want a picture right there?

Chicago's bid for the Olympics.  Neat display of all the flags.

Mark was a bit nervous before going up, but was fine once we were up there.  Our kids had no problem looking down from the top of the building.

We almost didn't pay to up since it was a little pricey.  They told us visibility was horrible and we wouldn't be able to see to the next building, but I'm glad we decided to go.  While it would have been cool to see really far away on a clear day, it was neat to see the clouds THAT WE WERE EVEN WITH too!

All the TINY little cars. Boy I'm glad I don't live in a city like this.

Those girls are So CUTE!

Okay horrible picture of me, but we decided to take this picture and THEN the elevator dinged!  So Mark had to hurry to take the picture.  Oh well.

We ended up have great Chicago Style Pizza with Pam and hung out at her hotel for a little bit.  It was really nice to get to see her and have a little taste of Kansas here, closer to home.
