Family Camp at Camp Calvary

June 29 - July 4, 2009

The girls sleeping in the tent.  We tented it all week!  Big step for us!  We borrowed the tent from a friend who is cooking for the camp all summer, so they get a cabin.  The boys upgraded from the pup tent to our big tent and the girls slept with us.

There were lots of activities for the family to do.  Which was a really good thing since it rained for 4 days!  Malachi and Cale tried their hand at the lathe and made candle sticks.

Cale really liked it.

Getting ready for a session in the Mult.

Mark looks up to something....

Playing a group game at night.

Sadie with Amy.

It wouldn't be camp for Mark without some mean games of ping pong.

Playing pool of sorts...

Cosette and Megan. It was neat how there were little gangs of kids of age groups around.  Cale had a boy group, Malachi had a group, and Cosette and Sadie had a little girl gang!

Finally by the end of the week, we could be outside without umbrellas!

Sadie with Amy and Kelsey.

Thursday night they have a date night for the parents.  All the kids have a kid dinner somewhere else on the campground and they give us a special dinner, fancied up.

Friday we painted bricks for our family to represent what we've learned through the week.

The theme of our brick and week is Matthew 22:37-38
"Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 'This is the first and greatest commandment."

We want to be a family that lives this verse.  Help us Lord to love you with ALL our hearts, souls, and minds.

Our last day we got to go canoeing, click to see those pictures
