Our church had planned a family day at this Orchard which has grown so much that there's rides and all kinds of activities that you feel like it is an amusement park.
I had bought the tickets for Grandma and Grandpa from Kansas before they pulled the boat early. So they stayed for a couple of weeks until this Saturday outing. Grandpa and I got a lot of projects accomplished and started on the bedroom for the boys that would need to be finished before our next baby was born in February.
My pumpkins.
You can see the rides in the background, some bounce houses and other small carnival type rides.
Teeter totters
A zip line that Malachi was a little too tall for. His feet immediately hit the ground.
I don't know what Cosy was frowning about.
Then we took a wagon ride out to the orchards. Delicious apples!
Doesn't Cale look like a connoisseur contemplating and comparing the taste of the apples?
Next wagon ride to the....
BMX course? Yep! They had a BMX course with bikes to use and wavers to sign. How funny!
I think Grandpa got a too small bike...but it was slim pickins to find a good one that wasn't beat up.
Cosy loved it!
Mark had heard this was here and had brought his own bike. It was good he did, because there wasn't a tall bike in the bunch!
Sadie wasn't allowed on the course, obviously, but we still gave her a bit of a ride.
Then it was apple shooting time!
There were a lot of other activities too that I just didn't get pictures of.
We even got another wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch. Everyone got their own pumpkins. The boys kept trying to get these monster pumpkins. I told them if they couldn't carry it, they couldn't take it home because I couldn't carry it! It actually was hard for the girls to find pumpkins they could carry, this patch had been pretty picked over - no pun intended.
The whole ride back, the discussion was on who's pumpkin was the best. Aiyiyi!
Our van was so packed full! 6 pumpkins, 6 pecks of apples, 6 people! It all barely fit! But it was SO fun! What a great day with family and church family! God has blessed us indeed!
We ended up canning some pumpkin this year and making about 6 pies from the pumpkins. Actually out of one large pumpkin, the second large one rotted. And, yes, you can make pie out of any kind of pumpkin. I've never bought the expensive kind to make pie out of and I think they turn out just fine. :-)
