Moving Day!

Well, as hard as it is, we know that God has led us down this road, so March 26th, 2008 our moving trucks started arriving.  Thursday, we had a bunch of people bless us with their time and got the ball rolling.  We debated for quite a while if we could fit in one of these trucks, or would need 2, but since we didn't have enough time to sort through and get rid of much stuff, we just made the decision to fill this one so we could get the other one here the next day.

We found a little time for some comic relief. How about a hillbilly limo service!  Right down to the shore line for some easy fishin'!
(This couch was old and yucky, so we were taking it back to the burn pile)

We took possession of the house Friday, April 4th, 2008.   We hired movers (sorry to you poor volunteers in Wichita) to move the heaviest and most akward stuff that was in the second trailer.  Saturday, some family and Mark's new boss and his family arrived to help us unload the rest of the stuff.  Wow, Mark's boss' wife made us delicious sloppy joes, cookies, brownies, and left us with water, snacks, and fruit as a welcome gift!  What a blessing and surprise that was!

The kids' had gotten a sweet deal in Wichita - play with Grandma M. while we did the packing and loading.  But here, they had to work!  :-)  They did a great job of unloading boxes and being helpful.  I knew they could do it!

Taking a much deserved break - Mark's parents and Mark's new boss on the right.

Oh boy, I have a big job ahead of me.  It LOOKED like a lot of space until the boxes came in!

The previous family left us a sign to welcome us.  They were very nice and helpful.  I've had to call and ask questions a few times.  They also had tons of things labeled very clearly for us!

April 9th, enjoying the place a bit while we get settled.  The kids LOVE the space.  Cosette has learned to ride a scooter.  Mark is fixing the ruts made by the moving trucks.  It had rained the morning our trucks came.  Fortunately we didn't have to unload in the rain, but it did make it a bit messy if you got off the path!

The boys are enjoying new freedom in riding their bikes down to the end of the cul-de-sac.  It is about .2 miles to the end.  The whole road is .45 of a mile.  (We measured it so we can take walks and know what a mile is!)

We call the 2 trees in the center our dancing trees.

I'm getting there...April 9th, and I can use the kitchen!  Just don't look at the rest of the house yet!  :-)

Here's a look of early spring at our new house.
