The Events
Each event was in 3 Age groups – 11 +, 5-10 year olds, and 4 and under (for as long as the little ones will last!) The Team events crossed age group lines.
Fencing (we got foam swords from Dollar General and the first one to touch the other’s body except head, 3 times wins the match)
Track events –
Hurdles=24 yard run
Discus=frisbee throwing

TEAM - Backward Race Relay= Just walk fast backwards trying not to bump into each other to the finish line.

TEAM- Shotput=Each team member tosses a water filled balloon. Take the measure where the balloon lands or breaks. Total distance and record.

We nixed the last events because of time. We had started later than planned and a few families needed to leave. After the awards we did do the gymnastics tumbling however to give the kids who didn't get a medal so far a chance to earn one. We had 4 takers on that one. Here was the rest of the schedule we were supposed to do:
high jump =over a fan-type sprinkler!
Diving - splash jump= judged on how high of a splash you can make in a baby pool by jumping into it. (subjective event)
Gymnastics - Tumbling=judging on cartwheels and somersaults (subjective event)
