Wichita River Festival
We try to do all we can during the River Festival, which is a 9 day festival, in mostly downtown Wichita.
Its such a pretty time of year (May) and the city, especially around the river, is beautiful. Here we are in front of where the Little and Big Arkansas Rivers meet, under the Keeper of the Plains statue. Exploration Place is behind us.
We played in the marvelous fountain at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
We try to do something everyday. We went to a story time by the library, (Cosette is wearing a cute sun hat), an opera, a musical, toured the Indian Center (where the boys got to throw hatchets and try on real fur hats), tour Cow Town, see local ice skaters, the bubble man is always around somewhere to engulf you in a giant bubble (the size of 3 children to be exact!), dress up like cowboys and do cowboy things (like make rope and lasso a fake calf), go to Botanica Gardens (and see beautiful flowers and even run into some friends and family). All this and more was just for the price of a $3.00 button! Its such a good deal!
